Ranking based solely on employee feedback

ProQuest, an Ann Arbor-based information company and creator of award-winning technologies, has been selected as a Detroit Free Press National Standard Top Workplace. The Detroit daily newspaper partners annually with Workplace Dynamics, LLP, a leading research firm on organizational health and employee engagement, to identify Michigan’s Top Workplaces. Their resulting rankings are determined solely on employee feedback.

"We're delighted to be among the National Standard Top Workplaces," said Kurt Sanford, CEO of ProQuest. "What's rewarding about this ranking is that it is earned through the voice of our employees on what makes ProQuest a great place to work. I sincerely value this program's ability to provide another channel for feedback on what our staff finds fulfilling in their work and where we can build an even better environment."

During the summer, Workplace Dynamics surveyed ProQuest's Michigan-based employees, including those at the Ann Arbor headquarters, its Ypsilanti location and a variety of field-based workers. Employees were asked a series of questions designed to evaluate the company's direction, ability to execute its business plan, leadership, career development, work conditions, and pay and benefits.

ProQuest is best known for the creation of information tools and technologies that support research around the world in schools, libraries, universities and businesses. The workers in its Ann Arbor headquarters represent a diverse mix of jobs, including content experts of all types—from editors to librarians—as well as technologists, marketers and sales professionals. ProQuest is a mainstay of the Ann Arbor business environment and its employees are known for their community involvement.
