Yale Daily News Features Results from Data Mining the Vogue Archive

This fall, Librarian for Digital Humanities Research Peter Leonard and Public Services Librarian Lindsay King released results from an ongoing project that aims to employ data mining tools in the analysis of Vogue magazine’s sprawling digital archives."The Vogue project occurred because ProQuest, a library resource to which Yale has a perpetual access license, unveiled the entire archive of Vogue — spanning 122 years — for online access in 2011", King said. "Beyond insights into fashion and culture, the project is just one example of how to best implement digital technology to answer humanities-based research questions", Leonard said.

University Libraries in Hong Kong Add Value to their Collections with Digital Access to South China Morning Post Archives

The historical newspaper archive of Hong Kong based South China Morning Post will add compelling value for eight members of the JULAC (Joint University Libraries Advisory Committee) consortium. With searchable, full text coverage of South China Morning Post from its origin in 1903 to 1995, includes all advertisements, editorials, cartoons, and photographs that illuminate history as much as the news articles, university staff and students will be able to search the newspaper in its entirety.
