The move to this cloud-based solution will increase the library’s control over resource use, simplify the management of all resource types, and create a framework on which future library services can be built

BARCELONA, SPAIN, May 19, 2016 – Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that Alfonso X El Sabio University has opted for the Ex Libris Alma® library management service. This long-term Ex Libris customer will continue to use Ex Libris Primo® to enable users to discover library resources.

Iris Nuñez Trebol, vice-rector of the university, explained, “We have been looking forward to the migration to Alma for some time. It will provide us with a friendly environment that will manage and organize our e-resources in the best way possible, enhance the control we have over the use of all library resources, and create a framework for the development of new library services.

“We are also looking forward to using the analytical power of Alma to obtain accurate, up-to-date information to support our decisions regarding acquisitions and investments.”

Ofer Mosseri, corporate vice president and general manager of Ex Libris EMEA, said, “I am delighted that Alfonso X has decided to join the Alma community in Spain. I know that they are also looking forward to collaborating with our global Alma community of over 670 institutions.”
