Family history enthusiasts and genealogical experts will be happy to see a new version of ProQuest's popular HeritageQuest® Online, its high-quality genealogical and historical information treasury.

The new interface, powered by Ancestry, offers these enhanced benefits to patrons:

-- The fresh and intuitive interface user provides a familiar experience for Ancestry.com users.
-- The highly-valued U.S. Federal Census 1790-1940 now includes complete every-name indexes and unique interactive maps, and can now be discovered using a variety of searches.
-- The expanded collection of more than 40,000 family and local history books has added thumbnail images and hit highlighting, and can be searched in full-text.
-- The new Image Viewer no longer requires a plug-in, making it easy to share images with family and friends.
-- Significantly improved image resolution, with both greyscale and color.

Extensive training services and materials from both ProQuest and Ancestry provide learning opportunities for library staff and patrons alike. For example, the new Research Aid will replace the Learning Center and include topics such as Getting Started, Census, Beyond the Basics, Military and Ethnic. ProQuest also publishes LibGuides and two-minute videos, and hosts complimentary full-day webinars for genealogy librarians. Register for webinars here
