This week we are running a special series featuring libraries in ProQuest Historical Newspapers.
As libraries have evolved in the 21st-century, debates about library education abound; for example, here, here, and here. While the tone and views change over time, these discussions are not new. At the Indiana Library Association conference in 1921, opening speaker Dr. A.S. Root, espoused the importance of library education and promoting the profession “…as a glorious, attractive and enriching life…”
