ANN ARBOR, Mich., October 27, 2003 - ProQuest Information and Learning has released eLibrary Curriculum Edition. The new curriculum and reference resource delivers one of the largest collections of periodical and digital media content designed specifically for secondary schools and libraries. ProQuest Information and Learning creates and distributes databases to libraries and educational institutions worldwide. eLibrary Curriculum Edition meets a wide range of school research and curriculum needs. A newly updated user interface makes research easy. Students find the answers they need from more than 2,000 full-text magazines, newspapers, reference books and transcripts - plus thousands of pictures, maps, web links, and audio/video files. New content sources and features help create a powerful curriculum support tool for English Language Arts, Social Studies, and more. These elements make up eLibrary Curriculum Edition:
eLibrary's strong searching capabilities strengthen students' technology skills. Using natural language or Boolean search, students can type a question, phrase or keyword, executing searches across seven different media types and multiple databases with a single query. Students can search or browse by topic or publication. They can sort results by relevance, date, file size, Lexile reading level, publication or source. With one easy step, they can create marked lists or view, print, or email any document. Other features include:
ProQuest offers product support materials and workshops to help schools effectively integrate eLibrary resources into the curriculum. Most materials are included as part of an annual subscription. Custom programs for professional development, tailored to school and district needs, are also available. Educator Curriculum Guides show correlation and use of the programs in a standards-based environment. Standards-Based Learning Activities (SBLA) provide teachers with specific standards-based lesson plan examples. Professional training programs help teachers integrate BookCart technology into day-to-day classroom use. Free trials are available.
