ProQuest, sbr (Verlagsgruppe Handelsblatt) in Distribution Agreement
Schmalenbach Business Review joins ABI/INFORMĀ® business databases Divided line

ANN ARBOR, Mich., December 2, 2003 - ProQuest Information and Learning announces an agreement with Verlagsgruppe Handelsblatt, Germany's leading economic and financial news publishing group. The agreement will bring the well-known journal, sbr, the international edition of Schmalenbach Business Review, to ProQuest's ABI/INFORM suite of online business periodical databases. ProQuest Information and Learning creates and publishes databases for libraries and educational institutions worldwide.

"ProQuest considers the addition of sbr as another crown jewel in ABI/INFORM's portfolio. Its highly-regarded economics and financial reporting will be invaluable for business researchers in many disciplines," said Steven Hall, senior vice president, publishing, for ProQuest Information and Learning.

sbr is the international edition of the oldest and most prestigious German business journal, Schmalenbachs Zeitschrift für betriebswirtschaftliche Forschung. sbr's goal is to publish original and innovative research. Its quarterly, English-language issues focus on accounting, finance, taxation, marketing, neo-institutionalism and more, bringing together the most important management areas. This approach of not specializing in one specific subject, such as accounting or finance, stands in the tradition of German business research journals. Backfile rights dating to 2000 are included in the agreement.  ProQuest customers can sign up for the ProQuest specialized email notification lists at: http://www.proquest.com/en-US/site/forms/mailinglist.shtml to receive notification when the full text of sbr in PDF is available in the ABI/INFORM databases.

ABI/INFORM, one of the world's first electronic databases, has been a premier source of business information for more than 30 years. It holds content from thousands of journals to help researchers track business conditions, trends, management techniques, corporate strategies, and industry-specific topics.  It contains information on more than 60,000 companies as well as executive profiles, reports on market conditions, and in-depth case studies of global business trends. More than 350 of its resources are English-language titles published outside the U.S.

Libraries worldwide use ABI/INFORM as the foundation of their business information collections. It is used in 42 of the top 50 business schools selected by The Wall Street Journal's 2004 survey of leading business schools.

Free trials of ABI/INFORM business databases are available. Libraries may receive more information by contacting their account representative at 1-800-521-0600, ext. 3183 or 3452 (outside the U.S., call +44-1-223-215-512) or pqsales@il.proquest.com.
