CSA Partners with ProQuest to Provide Increased Access to Full-Text Content in CSA Databases
Divided line

ANN ARBOR, Mich., June 12, 2006 - ProQuest Information and Learning and CSA announce today a collaboration to make a collection of editorially-selected full-text ProQuest sources available as an upgrade to CSA's Sociological Abstracts, Social Services Abstracts, and Worldwide Political Science Abstracts A&I databases. The new partnership allows customers of these CSA databases to add nearly 240 titles from ProQuest, Periodicals Archive Online (PAO), and ProQuest Periodicals content. End-users get easy, integrated, and seamless access to high- quality information.

“We are very pleased to be working with CSA, given their excellent reputation as a creator of authoritative bibliographic research products,” says Suzanne BeDell, senior vice president of publishing, ProQuest Information and Learning.  “The partnership will leverage CSA’s strength in sociology, social services, and political science, and ProQuest’s deep and robust full-text archives to further guide researchers, faculty, and librarians in retrieving quality information.”

According to CSA’s president, Matt Dunie, “this product offering aligns with CSA’s core mission of enhancing researchers’ efficiency and promoting discovery.  End users will benefit greatly from this partnership.”

The ProQuest full-text content enhances and adds depth to the subject-specific CSA bibliographic databases. This product offering will allow users to retrieve the full-text component of nearly 240 core and priority titles covered in the CSA social science databases, extending the historical backfile of the databases to 1922 for some titles. Users will be able to seamlessly link directly from the bibliographic record into the full-text, text and graphics, or page images of thousands of articles.
