One of the most important art reference collections available to researchers.
Art historians, art teachers, students and collectors have long recognised the importance of exhibition catalogues, those from major exhibitions often becoming standard reference works. Yet catalogs can be difficult to obtain, going out of print rapidly, rarely reprinted and expensive to buy second-hand.
This microfiche edition brings together over 3,000 art exhibition catalogs from major museums and galleries throughout the world available individually, in major subject collections such as Renaissance and Baroque Art or subject collections such as Impressionism, Sculpture and Women Artists.
The catalogues are also grouped according to the museum or gallery that originally published them. Among these sets are the complete collection of Arts Council of Great Britain catalogs (1942-1978), the French Salon catalogs (1673-1925) as well as several American collections including catalogs from the Sidney Janis Gallery, the most influential private gallery in New York for the dissemination of modern art in the post-war period.
