Bibliothèque Nationale: Catalogue de la Troisième République, 1870-1940

There are records for a wide range of printed sources from the period itself, mostly in the form of documentary series. These include collections of posters; electoral tracts distributed at legislative elections between 1876 and 1914; parliamentary papers produced by the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate; and collections of documents from the main trade unions and political parties.
There are also a considerable number of articles and brochures of a polemical nature, covering a wide range of issues, from local and personal disputes to the great national and international controversies of the day. Entries for retrospective works – from scholarly monographs to partisan writing – which have a bearing on the period as a whole or on a particular episode, make up the other major element in the Catalogue.
