Paintings in the Kunsthistoriches Museum

The Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna contains the superb collection of pictures belonging to the House of Habsburg, Holy Roman Emperors and rulers of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Powerful and rich, the Habsburg monarchs were able to amass a priceless collection reflecting the two great strands of European painting, north and south of the Alps, from the fifteenth to the eighteenth century.
Many of the paintings are relatively little known and have rarely been reproduced making this microfiche collection an entirely new visual resource invaluable for both teaching and research.
