The Cheapside Gazetteer, reproduced on microfiche, provides historians, genealogists and archaeologists with minutely-detailed histories including maps and reconstruction plans of all the houses, churches, public buildings and other properties in five parishes at the heart of London's commercial district from the Norman Conquest to the Great Fire of 1666.

The histories are based on the remarkable quantity of surviving documents recording the development of London almost house by house from the twelfth century onwards. Reproduced parish by parish, they represent a major new resource for the study both of London history and the evolution of urban life.
