The Cuban Radio Transcripts is a window into the Cuban government's day-to-day viewpoint on two decades of post Cuban-Revolution history. Compiled from two sources from the Cuban Heritage Collection at the University of Miami Libraries, the "Miami Radio Monitoring Service" and the "Report from Miami," this collection presents researchers with transcriptions of daily news broadcasts from radio stations inside communist Cuba.

Scholars, researchers, and students will find this collection laden with unique perspectives on political history, religion, and international relations.

The Miami Radio Monitoring Service
Angel V. Fernández founded, "The Miami Radio Monitoring Service Miami", or MIRAMOS as it came to be known. In the beginning Mr. Fernández dutifully produced each transcript in short-hand and in type. Later, he collaborated with Manuel Acebo and J. Ramírez and the "Asociación de Taquígrafos Cubanos en el Exilio" to complete the daily transcriptions. The transcripts were published daily (except Sundays and holidays) from November 1, 1962 - June 30, 1982.  Also, included in each transcript is the: date, day of the week, time, and radio station.

The reports included in this collection cover critical events and a time period of great importance to Cuban and American history.
