eLibrary®—the user-friendly general reference tool—delivers one of the largest general reference collections of periodical and digital media content designed to support every range of users, including middle and high school students, college-prep and college-level researchers, and professional educators. Educators can even search for resources that correlate to state and national standards, including Common Core State Standards.

eLibrary’s updated interface and features make research easy. Researchers will find the answers they need from more than 2,500 full-text magazines, newspapers, books, and transcript titles, plus a collection of over 7 million maps, pictures, weblinks, and audio/video files.

Titles cover a wide range of subjects including business, education, general interest, health, language arts, sciences, social sciences, and many other curriculum-specific subject areas.

Every magazine, journal, newspaper, book, and transcript is provided in 100 percent full-text—saving valuable search time and reducing the frustration of abstract-only results. Plus, the variety of multimedia content supplements and enhances text-only information.

Researchers will find quality information from eight different media types:

• Magazines—Provide more than 1,600 full-text titles from general interest to scholarly publications. Popular titles include Fortune, National Geographic, Newsweek, Time, and The Economist.

Accessing eLibrary 

Complex searching is easy with eLibrary's graphical navigation and point-and-click functionality. Users can select from natural language, Boolean, topic, standards, or publication search. They can also use advanced search fields to further target relevant information. Results can be sorted by relevance, date, file size, reading level/Lexile, publication, source, and more. Plus, users can print, save, or email any result, making it simple to use and share information.

Additional features make research easier:

• Research Topic pages—Review the best (and most visually attractive) content, curated by editors, on more that 7,500 of the most popular search queries. A great starting point to learn the context behind the topic before exploring the article results.
• Timeline tools, slideshow-makers, and personalization features, including inline notetaking, available through the MyeLibrary functionality promote responsible use of digital content and research collaboration; and help strengthen alignment to Common Core State Standards requirements.
