ProQuest ProQuest Technology Research Database (TRD) provides coverage of current, relevant literature as well as a back file dating back to 1962. There are more than two dozen different publication types which can be found within the product, from maps and abstracts to reports and handbooks: a variety of sources that are all of value to researchers. Around 70% of the abstracted sources are from outside the US, with over 40 different languages represented. ProQuest TRD includes non-serial literature in the form of conference proceedings, technical reports, trade journals, books, newsletters, and patents.

ProQuest Illustrata™: Technology

ProQuest Illustrata: Technology offers groundbreaking Deep Indexing of tables and figures to enhance research. Deep Indexing is the innovative process by which ProQuest creates metadata for the vital research data that often remains hidden in tables and figures within journal articles. Deep Indexing allows efficient, precise and relevant retrieval, leading the researcher to the right choice of full text.

Within any given technology article there are on average eight images that hold a lot of highly informative data on the fundamental issues dealt with by the article. With traditional article-level and full-text indexing searches, the information contained in images is not searched. ProQuest Illustrata: Technology indexes these images enabling users to retrieve highly precise results.

Users can uncover critical data that would not be easily found via traditional searching, and improve research efficiency by quickly identifying the most relevant results. Researchers can expect to be able to search over 7 million indexed images in scholarly articles from key academic titles. ProQuest Illustrata: Technology can help maximize journal subscriptions through more powerful searches that link to the full-text articles that may have been disregarded without the image indexing.
