Inventory of Public Vital Statistics Records in West Virginia: Births, Deaths, and Marriages. Publ. 1941. Tables, append. 77p. 2 fiche.
NOTE: Inventories of Public Vital Statistics Records is one of a number of bibliographies of historical materials prepared throughout the United States by workers on the Historical Records Survey Program of the Work Projects Administration.
The Historical Records Survey Program was undertaken in the winter of 1935-36 for the purpose of providing useful employment to needy unemployed historians, lawyers, teachers, and research and clerical workers. The project was organized to compile inventories of historical materials, particularly unpublished government documents and records.
The object of the Survey in West Virginia was to prepare complete inventories of the records of State, county, city, or other governmental units; and of church records, newspapers, manuscript collections, and American imprints. |
