ProQuest Acquires Acclaimed Congressional Information Service and University Publications of America from LexisNexis
Divided line

This has been a year of exciting news from ProQuest and I am pleased to announce another new development -- the acquisition of the acclaimed Congressional Information Services (CIS®) and University Publications of America (UPA) product lines from LexisNexis. A complete list of acquired products, as well as those LexisNexis is retaining is within.

Driven by a long history of direct interaction with researchers, these products have earned a well-deserved reputation for high quality supported by top-notch service. This is a time of rapid change in the information industry, as companies continue to find new ways to provide information. We are proud to include these products in the ProQuest family as wonderful complements to the services offered to academic, government, and corporate market customers.

You likely have questions about what this means to you and your users. We will seek the advice of our customers, including those serving on our advisory boards, and our content providers as we make decisions during the integration process.

You have our commitment to keep you informed about any changes that might affect you. Over time, the name ProQuest will begin to appear on these products and materials. North American customers should continue to work with the sales and service representatives you currently use to support your CIS and UPA products. This change will now provide International customers with the opportunity to purchase these products directly from ProQuest -- International customers will be provided a ProQuest sales rep and should simply contact their sales rep for more information. ProQuest and LexisNexis are working together to minimize disruption and ensure a smooth transition.

Any payments currently due to LexisNexis for these products should be sent to the address shown on your existing invoices. You can be confident that all of your contracts, license rights, and account balances will be intact.

For further details on this exciting development, please review our press release, here. We will ensure that we keep this space updated with all the information you need – whether product information or contact information—at all times.

The opportunity to work with you, our valued customers, and the CIS and UPA employees who care so much about creating high quality research solutions for you, is deeply valued.

In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us, with comments, questions, or observations. Here’s to creating a company with a bright new ProQuest future together: the place where serious research starts.
