The letters of Israel Williams included in this collection are heavily concentrated in the period of the French and Indian Wars. Included are letters to and from Israel, William, and Ephraim Williams, Andrew Oliver, John Hancock, William Shirley, Thomas Hutchinson, and other contemporaries.
The collection also contains muster rolls, dispatches, journals, and a variety of military reports that lend insight into military affairs during this period.
