Overview

1,800 19th century monographs from the largest natural history library in the world - essential research materials from the golden age of entomological literature brought together in a single microfiche collection. In the nineteenth century there was a great burgeoning of entomological literature all over the world. This enormous output included many titles which are of great importance to present day entomologists, taxonomists and others, often recording the first descriptions of taxa new to science. Yet most of these titles are unavailable in the original today. Entomological Literature, 1800-1864 brings together for the first time the most significant of these scarce 19th century monographs. Selection is based on Hagen‘s Bibliotheca Entomologica, the bible for entomological bibliographers unsurpassed for its completeness and accuracy. This microfiche edition makes widely available works of major importance never before reprinted making it an indispensable core collection for any entomological library. The collection is published with machine-readable cataloguing at a price which would buy no more than a few of the major works in the original.

Pioneers of entomology are well represented, including Denny, Donovan, Charpentier, Dejean, Hahn, Harris, Hubner, Lacordaire, Walker, Linnaeus, Fabricius, Curtis, Stoll and Sepp. Inquire for a complete title list.
