Since 1938, ProQuest has partnered with academic institutions to increase the visibility of their dissertations and theses within the research community. Submitting your graduate works to ProQuest makes them discoverable alongside decades of works from 700 other leading institutions on ProQuest’s dedicated platform which reaches more than 3,000 institutions worldwide. ProQuest surfaces your institution’s works in the path of researchers through inclusion in major subject and discipline indexes, such as MLA, MathSciNet, SciFinder, Sociological Abstracts, ERIC, Institute of Physics (IOP), and PsycINFO. Dissemination of your work through ProQuest also increases its visibility with many important research-related organizations outside of the academy such as museums, government agencies, NGOs, and corporations that subscribe or purchase individual copies. Students retain copyright for their work in accordance with institutional policies and can choose additional avenues of dissemination beyond the nonexclusive right that is provided to ProQuest.

ProQuest makes it easy to manage your submissions. We offer a trusted submission tool ETD Administrator which has been developed with the academic community and continuously updated and improved based upon community feedback. The system is fast and easy to implement and scale and there is no cost for a custom site, ongoing maintenance or submissions. Administration and use of the system is straightforward and a dedicated customer service team is available to support the system and to answer questions from the graduate school, library and students.

ETD Administrator is designed to help you ensure consistency of your submission process and maintain compliance with institutional policies. Your institution’s forms, embargo policies and checklists are embedded to support and enhance your processes and workflows. Access to real-time information on submissions reduces staff time required and potential for confusion and delays.  We work with the graduate school and library to facilitate compliance with Institutional Repository and Scholarly Communications Policies.

Future enhancements to our dissemination program will include the development of a complimentary dissertation usage and impact dashboard for our publishing partners.
