The Historic American Engineering Record (HAER) works in cooperation with government, universities and other groups to prepare drawings, photographs and written records of sites and structures that contribute to an understanding of American technology, industry and engineering. A unique survey of America's vast industrial-technological heritage, HAER is a valuable resource for engineers, architects, historians, photographers, preservationists, American studies scholars and anyone else with an interest in the development and intricacies of engineering and technology.
The microfiche edition includes 24,000 photographs and 20,000 pages of text documenting sites as varied as canneries, silver mines, a logging dam and a mobile rocket launcher.
