The Labor Union Periodicals series provides the first and only comprehensive microfilm collection of national labor union periodicals. Filmed from the holdings of the State Historical Society of Wisconsin, The Johns Hopkins University library, and the U.S. Department of Labor library, Labor Union Periodicals reproduces virtually every national trade union periodical launched in the United States through 1955. Some of these titles date from the middle to late 1800s. Part 3: Food and Agricultural Industries covers the food and agricultural industries with the earliest publication beginning in 1876. Part 3 provides a wealth of data on the working-class response to industrial change. It records political events and union actions that are often unrecorded in other sources. For many of the unions, the periodicals constitute the only internal written record of years of their existence.
