Overview

Because few countries are economically self-sufficient, international business has become and will continue to be an important economic force. In recent years, as economists, businessmen, and government officials have become increasingly concerned with the enormous balance of payments deficit, a wide range of issues relating to international business has moved to center stage in discussions of the prospects for U.S. industry to reassert itself competitively in world markets. T his collection brings together a diverse group of reports highlighting various aspects of international business. The authors of these special studies are associated with several of the finest research facilities in the U.S.: the Army War College's Strategic Studies Institute, the National Defense University, the Institute for Defense Analysis, the Army Command and General Staff College, the American Institutes for Research, and major international institutes at Harvard, Columbia, Stanford, Georgetown, MIT, and Yale.
