Since its founding in 1942, Novyi zhurnal/The New Review has been among the most important Russian-language emigre literary journals worldwide. It published important material from Russians who had settled elsewhere, and samizdat smuggled from the USSR. The complete collection from 1942-2000 is available through ProQuest.

A printed index to the journal, as well as to the microfiche collection is included. The index contains full author, subject, genre and geographical indexes.
