The Meat Processing industry consists of three main product segments: pork, beef and sheep meat. It also consists of by-products such as pulled wool, offal, fat and animal skins. The horsemeat scandal was the key event of 2013-14 for the Meat Processing industry and it is expected to cause revenue to decline to £5.8 billion over the year, a fall of 3.6% on 2012-13. Over the five years through 2013-14, revenue is expected to grow at a compound annual rate of 0.5%.
