ProQuest has signed an agreement with the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) to distribute its highly respected publications to libraries around the world. The society's 15 peer-reviewed journals — including such acclaimed publications as SIAM Review, SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing, SIAM Journal on Applied Dynamical Systems and others — will be available in a wide variety of scientific and technology databases, enabling the content to be cross-searched with the library's complete ProQuest collection.
"Our goal at SIAM is to spread knowledge of new mathematical methods and techniques to professionals who can apply them to advance science, business and society," said David K. Marshall, publisher of SIAM's journals. "That means finding and working with distribution partners who are committed to not only broad discovery, but those who support researchers with powerful tools for working with content. We believe ProQuest excels at this."
SIAM's journals are renowned for their ability to convey useful mathematical knowledge to those who then implement this emerging research for practical, industrial, or scientific use. Distribution via ProQuest means SIAM's publications will be accessible in a powerful, end-to-end research experience that fuels innovation. A library's ProQuest holdings are unified in a single search, streamlining and broadening discovery, enabling faster, deeper dives into multiple content sources and types. Further, ProQuest's deep indexing technology will enable discovery of SIAM content that resides in charts and graphs, moving beyond text alone. ProQuest's Deep indexing system, which was awarded a U.S. patent in the last year, is among the platform's selection of sophisticated tools that accelerate discovery and content management, enabling users to more easily manipulate, share and even create content.

The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) is an international community of over 13,000 individual members. Almost 500 academic, manufacturing, research and development, service and consulting organizations, government, and military organizations worldwide are institutional members.
SIAM fosters the development of applied mathematical and computational methodologies needed in these various application areas. Applied mathematics in partnership with computational science is essential in solving many real-world problems. Through publications, research, and community, the mission of SIAM is to build cooperation between mathematics and the worlds of science and technology.
SIAM was incorporated in 1952 as a nonprofit organization to convey useful mathematical knowledge to other professionals who could implement mathematical theory for practical, industrial, or scientific use. Since then, SIAM's goals have remained the same:
SIAM is headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, staffed by more than 70 full and part-time employees.
