A new agreement for a national license between Jisc and ProQuest will enable access for the UK Higher Education community to two major digital archives: Early European Books Collections 1-4 and The Vogue Archive.

A new analysis of Bowker® Books In Print shows that a full 33 percent of its contributors have the ISO-certified International Standard Name Identifier (ISNI) connected with their names and in use in the database. ISNI was created just over two years ago and has topped 8 million assignments, 2.33 million of which are represented in Books In Print, showing rapid uptake by authors and other contributors.
ProQuest is boosting the visibility of ebooks in library collections by indexing the full text of the entire catalog of EBL - Ebook Library in its Summon® discovery service. EBL’s expansive catalog of more than 400,000 ebooks is now even more discoverable alongside titles from ebrary, which have been full-text indexed in the Summon service since 2012. The work to broaden discovery and accessibility of ebooks is occurring simultaneously with another major project: the integration of EBL and ebrary into a single ebook solution.
ProQuest has acquired U.K.-based Pi2 Solutions, an industry leader in product literature databases, workflow tools and related outsourcing services for global pharmaceutical companies. The company plans to align Pi2 with its ProQuest Dialog corporate information service to create an integrated solution for pharmacovigilance and expand ProQuest’s presence in the pharmaceutical industry.
Students using eLibrary® from ProQuest® now benefit from several recent enhancements to this popular online resource, making it easier to conduct research and to complete school assignments. The new mobile web edition of eLibrary is now available and enables access from smart phones and hand-held devices, to one of the largest general reference collections of periodicals and digital media content. Mobile optimized for a variety of devices, students will find answers they need searching content from eight different media types, including more than 2,500 full-text magazines, newspapers, books, and transcript titles, and a collection exceeding seven million maps, pictures, web links, and audio/video files.
Korean Education and Research Information Service (KERIS), a consortium with 300 members, expands its holdings of scholarly periodicals from ProQuest. Periodicals Archive Online connects researchers to a rich digital archive of leading historical periodicals, spanning more than two centuries of scholarship in the humanities and social sciences. The ability to search across all of these journals simultaneously allows researchers to uncover valuable material and insights in subject areas and publications that they might not otherwise explore, thereby, helping to increase unique research output.
Recognizing the unique value of ProQuest products, West Los Angeles College increases their offerings from ProQuest in order to best meet the research needs of their students and satisfy the curriculum requirements held by many California Community Colleges.
