Serials Solutions® Summon® service has reached agreement to index a wealth of specialized reports, fact sheets, publications, data sources and other content from the Pew Research Center and two diverse United Nations agencies – the Geneva-based International Labour Organization and UNAIDS, the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS. This content will expand coverage of specialized content in the Summon unified index which currently contains millions of data sets, government documents, reports, technical reports, Web resources and other specialized content.
The Pew Research Center is a nonpartisan fact tank that provides information on the issues, attitudes and trends shaping America and the world. The center conducts public opinion polling, demographic studies, media content analysis and other empirical social science research. Pew resources include major reports on trends in public opinion and related policy issues in the Pew Research Center's areas of special concentration: U.S. public opinion, global attitudes, the news media, the impact of the internet on American life, the role of religion in public life, the changing experiences of Hispanics in America plus social and demographic trends. Serials Solutions will index the Pew Research Center publications collection for inclusion in the Summon service.
The International Labour Organization (ILO) is the United Nations agency covering all aspects of the world of work, including drafting and overseeing international labour standards. Established in 1919, it became the first specialized agency of the United Nations. It is a unique organization as it is the only 'tripartite' UN agency that brings together representatives of governments, employers and workers, to jointly shape policies and programs promoting decent work for all. The Summon service will include almost all ILO resources, including valuable database content, papers, reports, magazines, journals, audio-visual material and fact sheets.
UNAIDS, the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS, is an innovative United Nations partnership that produces a range of authoritative resources including HIV AIDS progress reports, country reports, fact sheets, slides, and books used by researchers worldwide. Serials Solutions will include the UNAIDS publication collection in the Summon service, as well as other content from www.unaids.org.
The Summon service searches across more than 800 million items in a single, unified index including the most comprehensive coverage of specialized content of any discovery service.
