Many at our ALA breakfast program said that the presentation delivered by Megan Oakleaf, MLS, Phd., “The Importance of Using Data to Drive Innovation, Improve Services & Demonstrate Value,” was the best presentation they had ever seen! We didn’t want you to miss out, so here’s a re-cap of it for you, along with opportunities for you to learn more about the latest innovations from ProQuest.

We’re in this together, and for the long haul.

The program underscored the fact that librarians and vendors are focused on leveraging data to drive innovation and improvements within the library, and are determined to demonstrate and increase library value.

Megan outlined several practical models that guide organizations—through the processes of innovation, improvement and demonstration of value.  She identified important takeaways for everyone in attendance:

  • We need data and evidence to support decisions, proceed with new projects, evaluate impact of our actions, and backup our assertions of value
  • We need to “close the loop” and create value, by doing something better (improving) and doing something new (innovating)
  • We need to understand what value means (missions, goals, strategic priorities, focus areas) and consistently measure it

Do you want to innovate, improve, and demonstrate value at your library?

During our programs and at our tradeshow booth,  we shared how informed innovation is driving development of ProQuest services, like Intota™, Summon®, and RefWorks Flow™, to meet the needs and expectations of today’s users plus demonstrate and increase library value.

You can learn more about these services and how you move your library forward by attending the following demonstrations (use the links below to register):

If you can’t make a session, and want to learn more, check out: Summon® 2.0, Intota™, RefWorks Flow™, ebrary and EBL…and contact us for demos.
