Over the course of the past year, we’ve encountered more and more libraries investigating solutions to assess e-resource usage and get a complete view of their entire collection - electronic and print. This is aligned with our development of new functionality to help libraries improve management and assessment of electronic and print resources.

Why assess your collection? Measuring and determining the strength of your collection validates your acquisitions and helps you ensure academic and research success at your institution.

As libraries come to us, asking what they should first do, we encourage them to identify what they want to accomplish and then decide which of two critical steps they should first take to accomplish their goal of measuring and determining the strength of their collection:

  • Step 1: Simplify the process of collecting, examining and reporting e-resource usage statistics and costs
  • Step 2: Get a complete view of your entire collection (electronic and print) by comparing both usage, holdings and cost data
