If you have passion and talent, you’re already at an advantage, but none of that matters if you have nothing to show for it. Business writers work for businesses wanting to connect with clients via the mediums of magazines, newspapers, and websites. Given the high-income status of the business professionals reading, it is essential that these writers have sufficient knowledge in order that they may connect confidently and appropriately.
Columnists
Columnists make their living by writing a regular weekly, monthly, or quarterly column for a newspaper or magazine. They often comment on trends as well as review appropriate products, within their chosen genre. Landing a regular column is like gold to a writer, although constantly finding material can prove a challenge!
Copywriters
Copywriters reap little public fame but instead freelance capacity these writers are some of the highest-paid as their talent lies in writing text that sells products. A staff copywriter however will earn less and could be expected to write anything from marketing material to a grant, to a speech for their Managing Director.
