Abstract
Education is the essence of every civilization. It is through the process of educating the future generations that we enter the regime of teaching and learning. The teacher assumes an important role in the educative process. He is the key figure and the most important element in the educative process. Here the emphasis is on the process of learning rather than individuals. Constructivism believes that all knowledge is constructed on the basis of preexisting knowledge of the learners. This paper advocates that learning is active mental work, not passive reception of teaching. According to J S Bruner cognitivist emphasizes on discovery approach and problem solving methods. Constructivist teachers provoke cognitive conflict through skilled questioning which is known as critical exploration. This paper also criticizes that teaching should in turn focus on how to learn and how to construct knowledge. It is the need of the day to make the teachers accept the constructivist philosophy. This paper also discusses the role of the teacher that can enhance the process of constructivist learning for the learner. In this article the authors also explain the concept of constructivism advocates learner-centered, activity-oriented interactive pedagogic approach with respect to curriculum.

As a nation we are so backward in education that we cannot hope to fulfill our obligation to the nation in this respect in a given time during the generation, if the program is to depend on money. I have therefore to suggest that education should be self-supporting.

Introduction
Education is pivot of life. Life is useless, with education. Every religion, every country gives great importance to education .In India three levels of education exist-primary level, secondary level, and tertiary or higher level. Primary level, is meant for knowing about our environment. Secondary level for advancement of knowledge, and higher education for examining our thoughts and knowledge in a critical way. The current scenario of teaching learning process is not proper. Traditional learning or teaching in education is suffering from various problems like improper content, improper method, lack of efficient and skilled teachers, lack of communication and uncontrolled mass of students.
