COPPER wire and rod maker Metrod (Malaysia) Bhd will produce more value-added copper products to mitigate the rising cost of raw materials.
The company plans to have 80 per cent of its existing production in the value-added product category within the next two years.
It has also invested some RM300 million to purchase plants in China, India and the US to produce continuously transposed cables used in high-volume transformers.
