Abstract: Every profit and nonprofit organizations must be aware of the importance of education. We live in a world where changes, new knowledge and technology happen every day. If they want to survive all organizations must follow the development of science and technology in the field of their activities and be willing to learn and innovate. What makes an organization successful or unsuccessful is precisely the existence or non existence of a willingness to learn and innovate. The lack of willingness to learn and acquire new knowledge and skills can occur at the level of employee and organizational level. In both cases a key role in motivating the development of knowledge to employees and the entire organization has department for human resource management. Department of Human Resource Management conducts a series of activities, but in the context of this work, of crucial importance are the two activities, training and employees' development. The aim of department is to develop an adequate training program, which will be designed to motivate employees to acquire new knowledge and skills. In addition to educational programs, the HRM department must develop programs aimed at improving interpersonal relationships and the development of organizational culture. The organizational learning has a direct impact on three basic components of intellectual capital, (human capital, structural capital and customer capital). All these components of intellectual capital are based on the accumulation of knowledge and innovations that contribute to the increase in value. The accumulation of knowledge and innovation is possible only in organizations where employees are willing to learn and innovate, and make their organization more competitive and more valuable. The key is to know how to motivate people to work on maximizing the sum of their knowledge and skills and also increase the amount of knowledge and skills of the organization they work for. Simple words spoken, organizational learning is a prerequisite for the development of intellectual capital management.
