The aluminium industry is excited by the growing popularity of aluminium beer bottles launched a year agoy following favourable reviews from retailers, wholesalers and consumers.
An exciting piece of news that is percolating down the aluminium industry in the United States follows the launch by AnheuserBusch of its Budweiser Select brand of beer in a new aluminium 'bottle'. Shaped like a conventional glass bottle, the hot summer month of July this year was rightly chosen to launch the Budweiser aluminium beer bottle because this is the time when beer guzzling in the country is at its peak.
Beating the publicity drum, the St Louis, Missouri-based Anheuser-Busch was touting that consumers across the country were 'clamouring to get their hands on AnheuserBusch's cold aluminium bottle this summer'. The company which had already started to market its other well-known beer brand names in the new aluminium bottle, claimed that the aluminium bottle had received such favourable reviews by retailers, wholesalers and adult consumers since it was introduced in August 2004 by the Pittsburgh Brewing Company Budweiser Select is AnheuserBusch's sixth brand to be offered in this package -joining the ranks of its other brands such as Bud Light, Budweiser, Michellob Light, Michelob and Anheuser World Lager. Company sources say that the aluminium bottle even received mention in the June 22 edition of Zacks Brokerage Buy List.
Statements issued by Anheuser-Busch purport to confirm that the decision to introduce the aluminium bottle was indeed the right one.
