An 87-year-old man with Parkinson's disease (PD) started receiving oral tramadol for pain control [dosage not stated]. He experienced a decline in mobility, including freezing and gait ignition problems within 14 days. He was rendered almost immobile. Tramadol was stopped, and he received codeine. His symptoms returned to baseline.Author Comment"Tramadol can stimulate presynaptic release of serotonin and also inhibit re-uptake."
