Boulder-based Sterling-Rice Group hired Barbara Hagen as managing director. Hagen previously was with Target in Minneapolis where she led all marketing for the hard-lines categories, including sporting goods, household care, baby care, and personal care products. She brings more than 17 years of brand and marketing strategy, media, insights, and innovation experience, spanning the consumer packaged goods, retail and technology industries. She started her career at Ogilvy & Mather, NY, leading media planning for top clients, such as American Express and Kimberly- Clark. After receiving her MBA from NYU, she transitioned to the world of brand management where she worked for several Fortune 1 0O companies.
BANKING, FINANCE
The Investment Management Consultants Association based in Denver appointed Jim Dobbs as director of education. Dobbs will develop and improve in-person and online learning products and platforms that support the education component of IMCA's mission. Dobbs will oversee content development and implementation, delivering courses and curricula related to IMCA's certifications and continuing education requirements. Prior to joining IMCA, he served as a certification consuftant and program director for IMCA's Certified Private Weatth Advisor certification program for approximately six years.
ENGINEERING
JVA Inc., a structural, civil and environmental consulting engineering firm with offices in Boulder, Winter Park and Fort Collins. hired Christopher J. Birkmeyer as a senior project manager in the firm's civil department in Boulder. He earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering in 1996 from Bradley University in Illinois. Birkmeyer has experience in the design and construction of civil site projects including master planned resort communities, commercial site plans, multifamily residential and airports.
Tom Skinner, a principal and key staff member at JVA Inc., a structural, civil, and environmental consulting engineering firm with offices in Boulder, Winter Park and Fort Collins, has been elected to the board of directors of the Structural Engineering Association of Colorado. Skinner, who works in the office in Boulder, has more than 30 years of structural engineering experience on K-1 2 schools, higher education projects, municipal recreation facilities, and a variety of commercial buildings.
