There are many ways to help individuals with learning disabilities develop the independence needed to enjoy fulfilling lives in the community. Ensuring that such people feel safe in their homes can be an important contributing factor to their wellbeing and their ability to live independently.
Home security should be reviewed regularly. It is important to ensure that security measures meet the relevant regulations and to check that alarm and locking systems, fencing and gates have not become compromised over time.
An industry approved professional can review the security of homes and can advise residents on whether additional security measures are required and on how to implement security routines.
