THE STUDY OF THE LANGUAGE ART ON DREAM OF THE RED CHAMBER

Abstract

Dream of the Red Chamber has the title of " pearl of the artistic imperial crown of language ", has been always praised by people. There are a lot of people who study it, but few to which has been made systematic investigation. This point can be seen clearly from the study history of chapter one. According to the function of language, the literary language can be divided into two kinds of language, narrative language and personage language. This thesis probes into the type of writing and language specially in narrative languages and investigates the text characteristic which contains the quintessence of Chinese and standing-out gene on the basis of factual condition of Dream of the Red Chamber‘s language. Afterwards, take the description language having more aesthetic value, reflecting language style directly as special chapter to study. As to the personalist language of Dream of the Red Chamber, this thesis regards its function as the breakthrough point, probe into its promoting function on portraying personages and organizing the plot of the novel, etc. Then it researches such respects as essential feature, semantic, the technique of expression and style characteristic of personage language, etc. in detail. In terms of some defects of the masterpiece, the thesis will make simple analysis in the last part. This thesis plans to complete the preliminary understanding to the system of language art of Dream of the Red Chamber through the studying of above respects.

《红楼梦》的语言素有“语言艺术皇冠上的明珠”之誉，历来为无数世人所激赏。对之研究者众，但作出体系性考察的却罕见，这点从第一章的研究简史中可以清晰看到。按语言的功能划分，文学语言可划分为叙述语言和人物语言两种类型。在叙述语言领域，本论文从文艺学和叙事学结合的视角，重点研究叙述语言的类型、语体和语式问题，以探究《红楼梦》集汉语言之大成而又带有突破基因的文本特征。继之选取其中最具审美价值、直接体现作家语言风格的描写语言作专篇研讨。而对最具特色的《红楼梦》人物语言，则以文学功能为切入点，首先探讨其在刻画人物、结构小说情节等方面所起的推动作用；继而从人物语言的基本特征、语义层面、表现手法和风格特征等几个角度进行详加考察。《红楼梦》的语言并非完璧，故在余论部分针对其存在的些许缺憾作出简单分析。由此，力图由宏观而微观地完成对《红楼梦》语言艺术体系性的初步研讨。
