Kiwi aluminium craft excellence from across the ditch
New Zealand-based alumunium boat builder Q-West Boat Builders has been gaining a reputation on both sides of the Tasman for their construction of all types of vessels, from commercial boats to luxury pleasure craft.
Their reputation has been hard-earned, coming after many years of building a range of craft for a multitude of applications. They have completed over 300 aluminium craft, ranging in length from six to 30 metres and including pilot boats, passenger ferries, patrol craft, fishing vessels, crew transfer boats and pleasure yachts. Currently under construction is a 40 metre split-hopper barge and a 13 metre foil-assisted transfer vessel for Papua New Guinea.
Since Q-West's inception almost 20 years ago, there has been a determination to build on the experience and knowledge of the previous occupier of the Wanganui facility.
