Gold Winners Advance to District Competition

The theme of this year's local Addy Awards was "Big Ideas Can Come From Anywhere," but seven agencies dominated the show.
The awards were held March 20 at the Yost Theater in downtown Santa Ana, hosted as usual by the Orange County Advertising Federation. Gold winners automatically go on to the district competition. They can also go to the national competition if they win gold at the district competition.
Hosts threw out questions and audience members tweeted replies, with correct answers winning prizes during the ceremony.
Almost 200 Gold, Silver an^ Bronze Addys were handed out, including 39 in student categories.
Santa Ana-based DGWB Advertising and Communications took home the most awards, with 32 Addys total.
DGWB won Gold Addys for projects on behalf of Irvine-based Toshiba American Business Solutions Inc. and Irvine-based Galardi Group Inc.'s Wienerschnitzel chain.
Laguna Beach-based Fuse Interactive took home 19 awards, including Gold Addys in multiple categories for work for Irvinebased Kawasaki Motors Corp. USA.
