This paper discusses the purpose of using periodicals by veterinary scientists of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Periodicals are very essential for updating knowledge, teaching work, general awareness and for research work. 34.87% and 6.90% respondents showed second and first priority to using periodicals for updating knowledge respectively. 10.53% and 14.47% respondents showed first and second priority to periodicals for research work respectively. There are 27.63% respondents which showed their third priority to using periodicals for teaching work.9.87% and 14.80% respondents gave first and second priority to this. Veterinary Scientists having less teaching experience use periodicals for knowledge update, research, teaching work and general awareness more frequently as compared with scientists who have more experience.Whereas the PhD. holders scientists use periodicals more frequently for same as compared with M.V.Sc holder
