Defense, aviation and space contractor Aeroflex Holdings has indicated that its chairman Robert B. McKeon, the founder of a private equity investment firm that owns a majority stake in the company and a member of the board at four other firms, has died.
Plainview-based Aeroflex in a Sept. 17 Securities and Exchange Commission filing said McKeon, 58, died at his home in Darien, Conn., and that the company and its board extended its condolences to his family. Aeroflex declined to comment beyond the statement in its filing.
The Connecticut state medical examiner's office said the causes of death were asphyxia and neck compression and that the death has been ruled a suicide.
