Ron Paul may be ready to pass the torch, but these strategists say the GOP's 'liberty wing' will only expand.
Just how large is the market for political strategy firm that serves only Libertarian-learning Republicans? Josiah Schmidt and his new partners at Liberty Torch Consulting are betting it's a sizable one.
Schmidt, the former media coordinator for Gary Johnson's 2012 presidential campaign, joined forces in mid-summer with former Johnson Finance Director Jonathan Bydlak and David Adams, the 2010 manager for Sen. Rand Paul's (R-Ky.) campaign. The three formed Liberty Torch and quickly brought on a handful of clients, including congreessional candidate Robyn Hamlin in Missouri, a ballot proposition on medical marijuana in Oregon and several state legislative hopefuls.
