JUST A FEW months after Corel's acquisition of Pinnacle Systems from Avid Technology comes the $130 Studio 16 Ultimate. It continues Pinnacle's approach of packing in as many new features as possible, but it still won't satisfy everyone's needs.
Studio 16 is really version 2 of Avid Studio, a slightly higher-end application Avid introduced last year. It looks significantly different from Pinnacle Studio 15 but still offers lots of help resources and tooltips, plus 2 hours of video instruction.
The application has three versions: Studio 16 ($60) lets you add up to three video and three audio tracks; Studio 16 Plus ($100), up to 12 video and 12 audio tracks; and Studio 16 Ultimate, an unlimited number of tracks.
