In her new book, bell hooks, addresses questions, and concerns placed before her by students and teachers regarding a variety of pedagogical issues that occur within the classroom. Teaching Critical Thinking: Practical Wisdom (which is the final book of her teaching trilogy) probes the transmuted verve of critical thinking and the importance of laying the foundation for building an optimal learning community within the classroom. Moreover, hooks writes critically about the practice and changing role of capitalism on formal education, race-based and gender-based discrimination, and issues of diversity both inside and outside the classroom (110).
