Abstract
Despite comprehensive preventive action, cardiovascular diseases are the most often cause of death worldwide, in majority of European countries, including Poland. This article presents actual review of epidemiological data concerning selected cardiovascular risk factors. The authors pointed out the problems of cardiovascular prophylaxis and showed the effects of preventive strategy in adult population.
