CANTON, MI-Once upon a time, the United States was the world's largest producer of televisions. In fact, more than 100,000 people were employed in the industry at its peak in the 1960s. But, over the last few decades, TV production has migrated to Japan, Taiwan, Mexico and China. Element Electronics Corp. is bucking that trend by building flatscreen TVs in a suburb of Detroit.
