Benjamin Fultz (Ben), a modest, unassuming man, is so knowledgeable and well respected in the industry worldwide that he has been part of consulting teams on projects as important as the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident in what is now known as Ukraine.
Ben has 46 years of experience in paints, coatings, linings, reinforced plastics, elastomers, insulation, fireproofing, refractories, and nonmetallic and metallic materials of construction. His specific expertise includes materials formulation and testing, engineering, materials selection, codes, field technical support, and both construction and technical management. His wide range of expertise earned him a JPCL Top Thinker Award.
He joined Bechtel in 1982, and he is currently the Global Discipline Chief for Materials Engineering Technology (MET) assigned to the Oil, Gas & Chemicals GBU (Houston, TX). MET provides a wide range of specialist engineering services to the various Bechtel sites in the areas of material selection, corrosion control (including cathodic protection), failure analysis, noise abatement, welding technology, insulation, fireproofing, refractories, coatings, linings, reinforced...
