OMAN ARAB BANK's distinctive portfolio management
Oman Arab Bank - Investment Management Group (OAB-IMG) is the investment banking arm of Oman Arab Bank. Since its establishment in 1998, OAB-IMG has played a significant role in the equity market of the Sultanate and helped shaped its regulatory and business environment. The investment banking business of Oman Arab Bank has grown significantly over the past 12 years and has become one the largest players in the local market with Assets under Management (including custody) in excess of $750 million. Asset Management offers active and distinctive portfolio management services backed and has solid performance track record. OAB-IMG was selected by the Omani government to co-manage Oman's $390 million Investment Stabilization Fund. Furthermore, OAB was the first Oman based institution to successfully launch a mutual fund investing in Oman and GCC, post the global financial crisis.
The Corporate Finance & Advisory service of OAB-IMG has been very active in the issue management/advisory services space and has played an active role in developing issue management process in Oman in coordination with the Capital Market Authority. Corporate Finance & Advisory has managed equity issues totalling more than $1.8 billion during its tenure. OAB-IMG has been mandated as the lead issue manager for one of the two IPO's expected to tap the Muscat Securities Market in 2010.
OAB-IMG is one of the top brokerage houses on the Muscat Securities Market and offers clients access to regional equity and fixed income markets. It was also the first bank in Oman to launch an online trading portal to trade on the MSM. For six consecutive years, OAB-IMG has been awarded as one of best brokerage houses in Oman in all areas including services, organisational structure and volume.
